Cat Scratching Post Best Practices
1. Where Should You Place Your Cat Scratching Post?
A key purpose of a cat tree is to allow your cat to oversee the territory they reside in. So, make sure your cat tree is placed in a spacious room and avoid placing the cat tree in the centre of the room, your cat will prefer it against a wall or corner.
If your bedroom is spacious, try placing the cat tree in the corner of your room. If your cat is shy, you might prefer to place their cat tree in a low traffic room like a laundry or bathroom.
On the other hand, if your cat is socialable try placing their tree in the living room so you can watch & play with them.
2. How Long Will It Take To Setup?
Most cat scratching posts will take between 30 minutes to 50 minutes depending on the shape, size & amount of components. If you require further assembly assistance, please let our team know!
3. What Will Your Cat Use Their Scratching Tree For?
This will depend on your cat's personality, age & level of activity. Most cats at multiple points during the day will make use of their tree to scratch (which cleans their claws and helps to leave their scent) as well as stretch.
If you have a kitten, they will love running, jumping & scratching all over their cat tree (plus the occasional nap).
While your older cat will typically use their cat tree for scratching, napping, looking out over the room & stretching.
